When the Spirit Comes Upon Me

King James

When the Spirit came upon him,
he was more than a man.
Burning with anger,
he killed with his hands.

Ropes could not contain him,
no matter how he was bound.
The Philistines came with shouting,
but a jawbone he found.

"With a donkey's jawbone
I have made donkeys of them.
With a donkey's jawbone
I have killed a thousand men."

Alone he was nothing
In God he was something
The least of us are valuable
When through us the spirit is pumping

And flowing
Like downward stream river waters
Just as Sampson was
We are the Royal sons and daughters

No longer need hair or natural essence
To set us apart
Needing only to plant the Living God
He grows in our heart

When the Spirit Comes Upon Me,
I am more than a man.
Everything is possible,
Sitting at God's right hand.

I am free
I am healed
So protected
He's my shield

I am wise
Filled with Grace
I am rich
I'm gonna win this race.

And when the race is over
and my new life begins
I will dance with the Spirit
For the Spirit is my friend
