What Are You Going To Do with the Rest of Your Life?

A+ A-
"Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life." - Psalm 39:4

We have an opportunity today that will never come again. We have the opportunity to decide what are we going to do with the rest of our life.

Yes, you will have the opportunity to make this decision again tomorrow, but you will never have today again to make that decision. Once the day passes, it is over. Would you behave differently if you knew that you only have a year left to live? I know that I would. What makes the days more valuable if you know how many you have?

Shouldn't we treat every day like it's valuable? After all, they are numbered.

Psalm 90:10
The length of our days is seventy years—
or eighty, if we have the strength;
yet their span is but trouble and sorrow,
for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

This year, do this exercise and see if it makes a difference in how you treat your days. Take a clear glass jar and place 365 paper clips, marbles, or candy inside. Each morning take one out. When the paper clips, marbles, or candy are gone so is the year.

So, I ask you what are you going to do with the rest of your life?
