My favorite pen store of all time is Paradise Pen. You probably already realize that I love Office Supplies. I can spend an hour at one of the Big Box stores without even realizing it. It's really weird I know, but what can I do. It's part of who I am.
The thing that Paradise Pen offers that you can't get from a typical store, though, is specialty. (That, and Padrino Pens , their own excellent brand). Every pen they have has been hand selected by their buyers, and their buyers are good. They are not tied into any one brand either, so, you can get anything that you want, even Cartier. Did I mention the refills they carry?
Frankly, I don't know of any other pen store that can match their selection, or their value. I have bought at least half a dozen pens and countless refills from them and will definitely be buying more. As a lefty, I am very particular about the pen that I use because it has to feel right and it can't smudge. Personally, I like the smoothness of a rollerball; however, they tend to dry out a little quick. So, I generally will use a gel. The absolute best gel refill on the market is the Parker Gel Refill, which Paradise Pen carries. Also, the Parker Gel refill fits in the Padrino, the Retro 51 Tornado (another of my favorites), and many other brands.
I whole-heartedly recommend that you visit their website and see what you've been missing.

Sometimes, you just want a classic. When it comes to fine writing instruments, there is no classic better than the
When my wife bought me the MEISTERSTÜCK SOLITAIRE DOUÉ STAINLESS STEEL ROLLERBALL many years ago, I had never had a pen worth more than $20. And that was a graduation pen and pencil set. Although we had been looking at Montblanc for quite some time, I still could not bring myself to buy a Mont Pen for myself. Fortunately, for me, my wife was not as tight as I was. Notice that I said was, I am making my positive confession here.
Has having a Mont Pen changed my life?
Actually, I would say that it has. There are two magical perspectives about having a Mont Blanc in your hand. First, you feel different about yourself and what you are doing. For some reason, even writing in your journal is just a little more enjoyable. Certainly, the perfectly balanced weight of the pen and the silky smooth barrel contribute to this feeling. However, I think the value of the pen also adds to the moment. For me, I take just a little extra care of this pen. Although it is sturdy enough to be an everyday pen, I will let you know that I don’t use this pen everyday. I like to reserve it for special moments or on occasions to help me get unstuck.
Second, other people look at Mont Pens differently than other pens. Maybe it’s the history of the pen. After all, the first Meisterstuck was created in 1924. There are very few products that are still in production for such an extended period of time. Whatever the reason, this pen gets attention. People know a Mont Blanc when they see it.
What’s so special about Mont Pens?
One of the aspects of the rollerball that many people may not even know is that the refill actually screws into the barrel. I think this feature contributes to the exceptionally smooth writing not found in pens with springs. Everything fits perfectly into place. Of course the resin used in the barrel is unique to Montblanc. It feels smooth and looks like liquid. I haven’t tried to sell mine (nor will I since it was a gift from my wife), but I suspect that they hold their value pretty well.
Whether you are buying the Montblanc for yourself or as a gift, I hope you are as happy as I am with mine.
Montblanc Platinum Finish Meisterstuck Classique Ballpoint Pen 164 . Everything about this pen exudes elegance, even its name. Instead of ‘classic’, it is ‘classique’. Maybe this seems a little pretentious. Pretentious or not, the question is, when you pull the pen out, how does it make you feel? |
