I heard a famous TV personality comment the other day that he only thought about the good things in his life. This is a powerful way of life, and it's straight from the Bible. Since reading Norman Vincent Peale's, The Power of Positive Thinking years ago, I've been enamored with the power of the positive.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. - Philippians 4:8

On Larry King the other night, Donald Trump said that he doesn't like to talk about failure. He even tried not to say the word. When I combine these two thoughts, it produces something really amazing.

Thinking negative thoughts keeps you from God's Best by taking the space that Positive Thoughts should occupy.

We know that two things cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Thus, if you are filling your mind and your mouth with negative things, you are giving positive things no place in your life. If you will remove the negative and put in the positive, then, you're life will change. However, you must be sure to do both. If you only remove the negative without directing your thoughts to the positive, even more negative thoughts will invade your thinking.

It's easy to see this principle in practice. Consider a vacant yard. Now, is this yard nicely manicured filled with beautiful grass? No, weeds have taken over. It's the same way with us, if we don't "take care" of our thoughts, our thoughts will "take care" of us. The good things in life must be pursued and treated carefully. Junk will just appear. Have you ever had an empty room in your house? Did that room stay empty. Most likely, without deliberate action, the room became a "junk" room stacked with boxes, magazines, and old furniture. No matter what your talking about, a vacuum will be filled. Design and direction are required for the vacuum to be filled with what we want.

Make Room for the Best. Isn't it time to stop settling for the Good, or worse yet, the Bad? Isn't it time to stop settling and start enjoying the Best?
